Phil is the Head of Clusters for the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), working with sector stakeholders to drive the development of regional ecosystems that empower innovators in sectors from Space and Defence to Life Sciences. He also acts as the Strategic Lead for Life Sciences for UKRI-STFC and is passionate about driving initiatives not only within the health sector, but also between sectors.
A scientist, he undertook a PhD for the European Space Agency at King’s College London, continues to help national and international research bodies to understand the opportunity with space and spearheaded the development of several national positions papers, including Why Space for Life Sciences.
